This was stated by Patricia Schnabel Ruppert, Rockland County Health Commissioner in New York, who in conversation with the BBC called on developed countries to increase their vaccination rates.
The news comes after it was revealed last month that a man, who was not vaccinated, was left paralyzed by the virus in Rockland.
